The students should have completed their 10+2 with PCB subjects and obtained at least 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC-A&B/PwD candidates) with the recognised board, along with qualifying in the subject of English. For admission to the BPT programme in West Bengal, students have to appear in JENPAS-UG, which is the common entrance test of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board.

BPT is an undergraduate programme which requires a period of 4 years and 6 months of compulsory internship to be completed, and then the degree is awarded by West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS).

Yes. After finishing the BPT program and the internship, the students can practice as physiotherapists under the applicable rules in the state of West Bengal. Because the physiotherapy registration process in the state of West Bengal is still changing, the most appropriate way to put it is that the BPT students from WBUHS are eligible to register and practice physiotherapy in accordance with the current rules of West Bengal, not under the umbrella of any council.

The graduates of the BPT program can be employed as physiotherapists in government/private hospitals, rehabilitation centers for the disabled and health care centers, physiotherapists as consultants in private rehabilitation/fitness centers, physiotherapists as supporting personnel in sports academy/clubs or even open their own clinic of physiotherapy. The students of BPT can opt for a specialization in the field of orthopedics, neurology, sports, or cardiopulmonary physiotherapy.

BPT course at SKM Institute is affiliated with WBUHS and provides an amalgamation of experienced faculties, specialized physiotherapy laboratories, and clinical postings that enable students to acquire practical skills in Exercise Therapy, Electrotherapy, and Assessment along with their academic studies and prepare them for clinical practice and future specialization.
